Shareatable made it into Dutch magazine Arts&Auto, (“Doctor and car”) this week! They say we help people on the road have a better time, which we completely agree with!

We were already very proud to have an entire article devoted to Shareatable in the October issue of Meeting Events & Feestelijk zakendoen, but we’d like to draw some attention to the fact that we’re also mentioned in the editorial as an example of “a fresh new road”. We like!

No more lonely cups of coffee! Tazzina (which means “little cup” in Italian) is the first espresso bar/ lunch room to join Shareatable!

They have a cute corner cafe on the Brouwersgracht and another bar on the Bilderdijkstraat. In the summer time they are renowned for their ice cream, but all year round they serve great coffee: they were even nominated for Time Out Magazine’s `Best Coffee of Amsterdam 2010´.

When I go shopping with male friends they often complain that most shopping malls cater solely to women and tend to forget about those guys who actually enjoy shopping for their own crisp shirts and snazzy shoes! Well, next time they’re in Prague, they can indulge in a new, swanky, all-male shopping centre!

“The Gentleman’s Arcade” as it is to be called, will include an old fashioned barber, a hunting shop, a fancy tailor, outlet stores and a pizzeria. And for us girls? Well, we can always go and sit in the pizzeria and ogle the well dressed men, can’t we?

The Gentleman’s arcade opens its doors on June 1st, at Rathova pasaz, Na Prikope 23 to Ovocny trh 12, in down town Prague.

Patrick, Ilse and Afshan had dinner through Shareatable early October. Elsa: “It has really widened my horizons. I even stopped skipping articles about Iran in the newspapers!”

Patrick and Ilse were having dinner at Bitacora restaurant in Las Negras. They had been travelling on business for four days already: “We knew about shareatable,” said Patrick, “And we thought it might be fun, give us some new subject matter as well.” When they sat down at the table with the sign they were soon joined by Afshan, a 35 year-old from Dezful in Iran.

Ilse: “I’d been a bit worried at first, because you never know who’s going to join your table. What if they were really boring or obnoxious? But Afshan was such a polite and interesting guy, we had a really good time.”

It turned out that Afshan knew a lot more about the tiny country of The Netherlands, Patrick and Ilse’s home turf, than they did about Iran! “Every Iranian child knows the magic triangle: Gullit, Koeman and Van Basten!” Afshan told an astonished Ilse. (For those of you who don’t do sports, those are Dutch soccer players from the late eighties) Ilse: “I was amazed at how much he knew. And I was prompted to take an interest in Iran, I even stopped skipping articles about Iran in the newspapers!”

When it comes to table tricks I’m all thumbs, but this very easy to follow video makes me feel that, just maybe, I’ll be able to swing it as well!

Trick keeps going wrong? Don’t worry, I bet other people at the table are chomping at the bit to have a go themselves, or maybe they even have some tricks of their own up their sleeves.
